This valuable update, provided to our DreamDraper G-series customers for FREE, includes enhancements to existing G5 features, to increase the speed and efficiency of your designing! MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO when entering dimensions. When resizing a design element by entering actual measurements, you now have the ability to maintain the original element's proportionality by just checking the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" option in the Object-Scale window. Just enter one of the dimensions (width or height), and the program will automatically calculate the other side's dimension. MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO when exporting a JPG. When creating a high-quality JPG of your design (suitable for presentation or printing purposes, or emailing to your client), you have always had the option to specify the size of the JPG. But now you only have to enter the dimension of one of the sides (width or height), and the program will automatically calculate the other side's dimension. The Maintain Aspect Ratio feature is the default option when using File-Export to create your high-quality JPG. ADD YOUR OWN FABRIC SWATCH without worrying about image resolution or size. Now the Import feature for adding your own swatches to the Custom Library will automatically resize and reduce the resolution of the fabric image, if necessary. No other imaging software is required to reduce size or resolution of high-quality images taken with your digital camera or scanner. A reduced image improves computer performance (speed) and allows you to work faster. CREATE CUSTOM PATTERN COLORS with eyedroppers. The Pattern feature has always allowed you to create custom colors. Now the Pattern palettes have been enhanced with Eyedroppers so you can pick up color from other design objects, fabric images, photos, color chips, etc., while creating your Pattern. The Pattern Eyedroppers give you the same ability to custom color patterns in the same way that you can custom color your designs, fonts, lines, dimension tools, etc. PERSPECTIVE TOOL enhancement. We have enhanced the Perspective Tool to provide optimum control of rotation and perspective ("turning") that you may want to give an object. OPEN A DREAMDRAPER DESIGN by clicking on the file icon. Previous releases of the software required that you first open the DreamDraper program, and then from within the program you had to open your design file (portfolio). However now you can just click on the file icon, and both the program and your design file will open. DIMENSION TOOL enhancement. Several users requested the ability to delete the measurements from the canvas after a Dimension Tool was drawn. This has been addressed. You can now ungroup a Dimension Tool and easily delete the measurements, even when drawn on top of a photo. Hint: Regroup the Dimension Tool after you delete the measurements. The easiest method is to lasso it with your mouse, then Group. (The feature does not work retroactively on Dimension Tools drawn prior to the 1.8 update. To use this feature in older files, simply redraw the tool or resize the existing tool. Then you will be able to successfully ungroup it and eliminate the measurement.) CREATE CUSTOM COLORS ON GRID. The grid has been enhanced so that you can easily change its color using the color palette. Also, you can change the grid's default color under Edit-Preferences, so that the program will always display your custom color every time you open the program, until you decide to change it. ELEVATION TEMPLATES. Elevation templates have been enhanced and can be filled with textures, such as wood grain, effortlessly. MAC enhancements. - The software has been enhanced to allow the use of the Command key instead of the Control (CTRL) key when sizing a design or object proportionately. - Certain operating systems for Mac encountered an issue when printing designs, and some objects on the canvas would not print. This has been resolved for those few users who experienced this issue. - Certain operating system configurations on the Mac experienced slower performance than most Macs. This issue has also been addressed for the few systems that were affected. RIGHT CLICK. Several PC users have requested that the software be enhanced to enable access to features using the right-click method. We have begun to include this access method with this latest update. Trial version. We have enhanced the ability to print a design and create a high-quality JPG in the trial version of the software. |
