Dimension Tool
The existing freeform
dimension tool (shown in the illustration, the circled icon on
the left) allows you to draw the measuring tool to any length,
just by dragging your mouse. This can result in your
measurement showing fractions that you don't want. You are
able to resize the tool (Object-Scale), however this requires
two steps.
Now for your convenience we have
added a new dimension tool that will allow you to draw your tool
to the exact discrete measurement that you want!
|
 |
-
First click on the new dimension
tool icon. See the circled icon on the right (marked
discrete).
-
Then click on the canvas.
The location on the canvas where you click with your mouse
will mark the location on the canvas where one end of the
tool will be positioned.
-
A pop-up Select Length window
will appear, similar to what is shown on the right.
Here you will be able to specify the exact measurement of
the dimension tool that you desire, including fractions.
Type in your number and click OK.
-
Then with your mouse draw the
dimension tool, and it will reflect exactly the measurement
that you specified!
Many of our designers have requested this
enhancement,
and we are pleased to provide it! |

|
As before, you can follow these
simple drawing tips:
-
Depress the CONTROL key (CTRL)
on your keyboard to draw a perfectly horizontal or vertical
line. And you can also draw a line at a perfect 45
degree angle too.
-
By drawing the line left to
right, the dimension will appear below the line. Draw
right to left the dimension will appear above the line.
Draw top to bottom, the dimension appears to the left.
Draw bottom to top, the dimension appears to the right.
